Stalfos (Zelda II)

Took a bit of time off for the holiday but back at it with a Zelda foe. Remind me not to do anymore skeletons anytime soon. Still not happy with the helmet but eh, looks pretty good to me otherwise.
Duke Togo (Golgo-13)

The first character here to cross the licensed property lines. He has been in most every media including couple of NES games under his belt. It may be a while before I do my next licensed character like this, but he turned out really well even if his hair is a little more stylish than it should be. Hope you guys don't mind I went with his Mafat Conspiracy colors on this one. I am real tempted to go ahead and color that jacket white to his legendary white tux.
Toki (Toki)

I couldn't find a better palette of brown that looked good on him so I did heist his arcade colors (see above too) for his fur even though he's usually a lot more brown in his other games, like his NES counterpart up there.
Amagon (Amagon)

Amagon is just one of those weird characters that stand out to me, even chosen as my first pixel card so long ago. I've come full circle... sort of, as I represent not only his small form but a bit of his big form as well. And no, the big guy is not attached to his back. I'm conveying some of that hidden spirit power stuff. I'll make his larger form transparent if it confuses too many.
Moby (Wurm)

I still feel like she's a bit unfinished. But I did do a female character as promised! A bit obscure and a poor game at that, but slim pickings when it comes to NES era heroines. Took some liberties from her cut scene images to give the costume a little more detail.
Iron Arm (Trojan)

Iron Arm has always stood out as a boss character for some reason. There was something memorable about him. Spent way too much time on him and his palette is still a little shoddy. I tried to balance his design between the NES and arcade versions but went with the color scheme that was the most memorable to me.
Dust Man (Mega Man 4)

I wanted another villain and what series has about the most villains ever? Mega Man of course. So there's a lot of these guys yet to do. While this reflects back a bit on the simplicity of say Nova or Billy West, it does the job. Maybe a little more detail work with shininess yet, but I think he's pretty much done.
Mazura the Horsehead (Zelda II: Adventures of Link)

My last entry before I made this website, and I love it to bits. He was a random pick as I was considering another game hero. But this boss from Zelda II came to mind and I took the challenge as I don't intend on him being the last beast/monster type character I do for this. Lots of work on this one but I still don't know if I feel he's finished. His chest looks bare and he doesn't really have a mane to speak of... the "skirt" is a little off balance too.
Burnov (Double Dragon II)

Hold on a sec. This isn't as much of a cop out as you might think. Yes, the base is from his Neo Geo incarnation, but put it side to side and you'll see a ton of minute changes. More than just a recolor, all the little details made him take as long as it did my attempt on Nova. I stuck in both his NES incarnation and a higher res from a PC port of the Double Dragon II arcade to explain the blue pants.
Star Man (Pro Wrestling)

A winner is you! The lucha libre in pink was a tough nut to crack as I didn't want him too stupid looking nor did I want him looking too much like El Stingray (Slam Masters) or some ninja. I actually love how he turned out even if his colors don't blend too well with other characters. I imagine there'd be some giddy laughs out there if I told you all how I put him together.
Astyanax & Cutey (Astyanax)

One of those games where the story character looks different from the in game, so rather than the hulkish Conan guy (above) who was largely based on his arcade incarnation, I went with the more boyish look of the hero's NES cutscene. Cutey is hard to see but she still turned out pretty good.
Francesca (Krion Conquest)

No doubt the least recognizable or known character in the 10 I've uploaded so far (Mazura was finished right before posting all this). The few who will recognize her at all will know Krion Conquest as the blatant Mega Man 2 ripoff. You'll see the original Francesca up there looks like a Mega Man sprite edit itself. Still fighting the colors on this one but love the pose.
Nova (Power Blade)

This was one of the first guys in mind when I started the project, and boy did that "simple" boomerang of his give me trouble. Still needs some work on his hair and sunglasses though.
King Hippo (Punch-Out!!)

My first major undertaking since starting the project and I'm mostly happy with it. Need to fix that jaw a bit more. I may have him too small compared to the other fighters... can't recall his height. Funny that his original sprite is almost as big.
Karnov (Karnov)

My first "cop out" sprite. Recolored from head to toe, but a recolor of his Fighter's History sprite nevertheless. I did some other touches to make him more like his NES incarnation with the thicker 'stache and eyebrows, and gave him a much pointier head. There will be more cop outs like this for characters from fighting games, but like this one, they won't just be dropped in without changes. Otherwise, what's the point?
Kirby (Kirby's Dream Land)

Everyone loves this little marshmallow. Still some things I'd like to update to this like better shoes and his headband from his fighter mode.
Billy West (Adventures of Bayou Billy)

The first attempt on this project. I went with the color scheme of the Japanese game cover.
